Audiology

Why focus in audiology?

About 532,000 people in Peru experience hearing loss. Peru lacks an accredited training program for audiologist with approximately only 10 audiology for the entire country. Children that have congenital or acquired hearing loss typically experience a lack of access to audiology services and therefore typically do not develop their language skills.

A major part of our mission is to provide audiology services by bringing trained audiologist to administer hearing tests to children that experience hearing loss. Our audiologist will provide a hearing aid or referral to the school of deaf if indicated. Our goal is to expand our audiology services for children by training local providers to administer hearing tests and begin offering newborn hearing screenings.
